Recruiting: Keyshawn's commit, California recruiting and shedding old narratives: Even if every California prospect who suddenly took interest in Nebraska after Keyshawn Johnson Jr.'s commit wanted to play for Nebraska, well NU probably couldn't take them all.

Huskers Hold on for 9-8 Win, Sweep Boilermakers

Huskers Hold on for 9-8 Win, Sweep Boilermakers: West Lafayette, Ind. – The Nebraska baseball team (16-7, 3-0 Big Ten) completed a sweep of the Purdue Boilermakers (4-17, 0-3 Big Ten) on Sunday afternoon, holding on for a 9-8 victory. It's the first conference road sweep by the Huskers since May of 2014, when Nebraska swept Michigan State in East Lansing.

The Kansas loss was a bracket breaker. More than half of the entries had Kansas winning. The Kansas-Villanova game may have been for the Championship. Kansas had a huge lapse in the first half where they turned the ball over ten times in like twelve times down the court. That was the killer. Villanova is too good to do that.

When Michigan St lost that knocked a lot of people out early. Since then Duke, Oregon, and Xavier have also lost.

I don't see North Carolina or Virginia having any trouble of winning today. Today's games won't be as exciting because Syracuse and Notre Dame have had upsets to get where they are and their time is coming to an end.

Who will win? I have already said I like Villanova. I think they will beat Oklahoma. I will take Virginia to beat North Carolina in a great game. This year's champion will be a surprise in Virginia.

The Nebraska baseball team plays today at Purdue at 11 am. NU has won the first two games and are 15-7 and 2-0 in the conference.

Still liking the NBA a lot. Its like watching college basketball again but the talent level is much much higher.

The Spring Game is in three weeks. I am anxious to see how some of the players do although we know that it doesn't mean a lot of a player has a great spring. (Wilbon,Darlington).

Happy Easter!! THE LORD HAS RISEN!

The brackets are getting broke up. Teams like Baylor, USC, Kentucky, Michigan St., West Virginia, and even Stephen F Austin have been beaten. My brackets are well down the list. Oh well, there is still a chance. There is a lot of parity in college basketball right now but the ACC looks pretty good right now.

I really like Lee Barfknecht article on Nebraska's quest to find a big man. Great read. The story is on this blog so make sure you take time to read it.

Jimmie Johnson won the Nascar race in Fantana, California and is off to a great start this year.

Keyshawn Johnson Jr will make his college choice this week. This will be huge as he is a great wide receiver and he has close ties to two other top rated players in his high school.

UCLA basketball coach Steve Alford is giving back his one year extension.

WR Brandon Reilly has been picked up for DUI. His suspension will be announced later, if at all.

OU's Buddy Hield had 29 points in the second half today.

The men's NU basketball team will not be playing in postseason play. As a fan I am disappointed but I am sure the team and Athletic Department made the right decision.

Omaha World-Herald's om Shatel had a great article on how the interest in basketball in the State of Nebraska is picking up!!  Creighton, Nebraska, and UNO showed promise for the future this year. The High School State Basketball tournament was full of excitement. With excitement brings more Division I players. We have seen it in volleyball.  http://www.omaha.com/sports/shatel-as-passion-for-college-hoops-rises-state-s-teams/article_96096ec4-270c-5707-bae0-de436725ee6a.html

Prince Amukamara is headed to the Jacksonbille Jags after signing a one year contract.

WR Jason McQuitty from Missouri became the second player to commit to Nebraska for the 2017 class. He is a four star by Rivals ratings!! Wideout coach Keith Williams had a lot to do with McQuitty coming to Nebraska. The other member of the class is linebacker Willie Hampton from Florida.

I really think Keyshawn Johnson, Jr will come to Nebraska. He seems to really like the new coaches.

Michigan St. and Purdue are the two best teams in the Big 10. I like Purdue the most because of their size.

Jessica Shepard had the best freshman season ever for the NU women.

The Nebraska men play today at 1 pm on BTN vs. Northwestern. This is an away game. Northwestern is favored by five points.

Nancy Reagan passed away today at the age of 94.

Zac Darlington has switched from quarterback to wide receiver. With a lot of talent at wide receiver it will be interesting to see how  he does. It may take him a year to adapt but he is very athletic and will do well.
