A few things in sports!
Former NU baseball player Cody Asche has been called up by the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Buffalo Bills have not been to an NFL playoff since 1999.
Sounds like New York Yankee Alex Rodriquez's career may be over. It has to do with performance enhancing drugs.
The KC Royals have won seven in a row. The trouble is Cleveland has won six straight and Detroit four straight. These are the teams they have to catch to win the division.

Sport Shorts!
Less than five weeks until the first Nebraska game. With this weather it feels like it should have already started. Cold in July??
Nebraska's strength will be its offense. They should be explosive if the offensive line holds up and there aren't any key injuries. Taylor Martinez is now a veteran and he should be really good. He has a tremendous receiving corp.
There will be some newcomers on defense that will need to step up. Should be interesting. The past two years' hoopla could be real this year. We will find out soon.
Alex Gordon hit a two run homer in extra innings and Kansas City wins their sixth in a row and get to an even record for the year. Plenty of time if they keep up playing well.
How about Hunter Mahan leading the PGA leader this week and he withdraws to be with his wife for the birth of their child?
One of my favorite drivers, Ryan Newman, won today at the Brickyard 400. I have been to that race five times. Hard to see the race but it is unbelievable with all the fans there and the tradition. Big win for Newman who needs a ride next year.
The following Huskers are in NFL camps trying to win a job.
Baltimore Ravens-Sam Koch
Buffalo Bills-Keith Williams
Chicago Bears-Zack Bowman and Matt Slauson
Cincinnati Bengals-Rex Burkhead
Cleveland Browns-Brandon Jackson
Denver Broncos-Stewart Bradley
Detroit Lions-Dominic Raiola and Ndamukong Suh
Houston Texans-Jared Crick
Indianapolis Colts-Larry Asante
Miami Dolphins-Richie Incognito
New England Patriots-Alfonzo Dennard
New Orleans Saints-Ricky Henry, Marcel Jones, and Eric Martin
New York Giants-Prince Amukamara and Josh Brown
Philadelphia Eagles-Alex Henery
St. Louis Rams-Mike McNeil and Zach Potter
San Diego Chargers-Ben Cotton and Philip Dillard
Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Lavonte David and Carl Nicks
Tennessee Titans-Daimond Stafford
Washington Redskins-Will Compton, DeJon Gomes, Roy Helu Jr., Niles Paul, and on the PUP is Adam Carriker
Nobody has Eric Hagg at this time.

Huge crowd at US Senior Open in Omaha!
There were 34,354 in attendance for the final round of the US Senior open yesterday at the Omaha Country Club. That is the largest crowd to attend a sporting event in Omaha history. Good job!
Jordan Spieth, 19, is the youngest PGA winner since 1931. He won the John Deere Classic in a playoff with David Hearn and Zach Johnson.
