Will Nebraska make the dance?
Its going to be close. Nebraska may have to play on Tuesday in a play-in game in Dayton. They may not make it. They may play a Texas or a St. Louis as a No. 10 seed. We will find out in minutes. Go Huskers!

Nebraska has tough game today!!
No. 15 Ohio St. plays No. 47 Nebraska today in the Big 10 tournament around 1:30 this afternoon. Those rankings are per Pomeroy. This will be a tough one for the Cornhuskers. Ohio St. has a lot of talent and they were rated in the top three in the nation in early January. They killed Nebraska by 30 points during that time at Columbus, Ohio and then Nebraska beat them in a close one in Lincoln.
Nebraska has the ability and momentum to pull this off. Shields, Petteway, and Pitchford have to have really good games. Gallegos will need to have 10 plus points and the rest of the crew will have to have exceptional games for NU to have a chance.
Ohio State is favored by five points.
Look to Nebraska to have a great game and win with:

Mom, share your life with me......
February 23
What is the biggest problem you remember having in Sr. High School?
U don't remember any big problems, but in the 11th and 12th grade I stayed in Holdrege by myself, as Erlene and Burton had graduated. I went home on the weekends. I stayed at 4th and Blaine St the first time by myself in a room we rented. The lady was Beatrice Sparks.
February 24
Describe a place you liked to go to be alone.
Maybe to a movie or my room I stayed in in Holdrege.
February 25
Tell of a place that you discovered or built as a "haven" for your gang.
When we were in country school, a half mile south of us was a bunch of bushes. We made a "haven" for us and pretend we had a house. We used to have a good time there.
February 26
Tell about a favorite "hang out" place for you and your friends in Jr. and Sr. High.
We always went to the Holdrege city auditorium and used to roller skate a lot.
February 27
Tell about the best pet you ever had.
The best pet is Flash, our dog, you probably remember him. (Yes I do!)
February 28
Tell about other pets you had.
When I was at home we had a kitten call "Preta". That was our favorite cat.
March 1
Tell about being in a school play or program.
I never did be in a play or program in High School.
March 2
Tell about a school principal you remember.
The school principal in high school was Mr. Bragg
March 3
Did you ever pretend to be sick as an excuse to stay home from school?
I don't think I ever did as I missed so much school when I had rheumatic fever.
March 4
Do you have a good story about yourself cussing?
I don't think we ever dared to cuss. Dad never did any cussing so we didn't either.
March 5
Tell about how you spent your Saturdays during the school year.
I worked when I was in High School. I worked at Brown McDonalds and an usher at the movie theatre.
March 6
Tell about how you spent your Sundays.
I would go home and we always went to church at the Funk Fridheim Lutheran Church Sunday mornings. In afternoon we either went to visit our cousins or they would come to our house.
March 7
What was the naughtiest or meanest thing you remember doing in school? Were there consequences?
I can't remember doing anything mean or naughty. I know I probably did.
March 8
When on car trips, did you play car games?
We used to play the Alphabet game. who found the letters from A to Z first.

Huskers get commitment from twins from Missouri!
Nebraska got oral commitments from Khalil Davis and Carlos Davis from Blue Springs, Missouri. Both will play on the defensive line as a tackle or end. The are rated the fourth and sixth best players in the state of Missouri.
These two players will be a big help to Nebraska's defense. There have been too many good things said about their personalities and the fact that they have been Nebraska fans for years.
Both of these twin brothers will be four star rated at the end of next year.
Ok so five Top 10 teams in college basketball got beat Saturday. No. 12 Virginia beat Syracuse who was rated No. 4 75-56. No. 7 Louisville was beaten by Memphis 72-66. Xavier beat No. 9 Creighton 75-69. Oklahoma St. beat Kansas. VCU beat No. 10 St. Louis by 11.
At least another five teams in the rest of the Top 25 were also beaten. Won't it be fun to fill out the brackets in a couple of weeks!!
Last year NU missed out on Akoy Agau, a nationally known player from Omaha central. Akoy went to Louisville. They were a national power that is always in the news. So far Agau has played in 15 games and has averaged 5.1 minutes per game and has scored .9 points per game. He has a total of 16 rebounds and five blocked shots. Not a stellar year.
I wonder if he wishes he would of stayed at NU. Of course he would have played a lot more assuming the chemistry was there for the rest of the team. Who knows? Agau was suspended for a couple of games in the December period. Agau could have helped NU inside in scoring and rebounding.

Nebraska needs solid win versus Northwestern today.
Nebraska has dropped to 59th in the Pomeroy ratings. Pomeroy is just a guideline but it shows the loss to Illinois hurt them. They dropped nine places.
Nebraska is a very good defensive team and they must keep up the pace. They are rated 32nd in the nation in Defense Efficiency which takes all the defensive statistics and puts them into a ratio.
Nebraska needs a good game out of a bunch of players today. Of course Petteway and Shields have to be solid. Walter Pitchford is a key player when they are palying well. He hits threes and rebounds a ton. Webster has to get some drives to the basket and a couple of layups. Parker steals the ball two or three times and David Rivers just disrupts the opposing teams offensive and hustles like crazy. Those things have to continue for NU to shine.
Look to NU to rebound today at home.
Nebraska 64
Northwestern 55
Terence "Bud" Crawford is so much fun to watch. He reminds me of a smaller Muhammed Ali at times. Well the Omahan is going after the WBO Lightweight Title tonight in Glasgow, Scotland. He fights Ricky Burns who is 36-2-1. Crawford is 22-0.
Crawford is attempting to become the first Nebraskan in 100 years to win a major boxing title this afternoon. Only two fighters from the region, middleweight Ace Hudkins (1929) and heavyweight Ron Stander (1972), from Council Bluffs, are known to have challenged for a title sincePerry "Kid" Graves claimed a vacant welterweight title in 1914.
Crawford often wears a Husker cap when he enters the ring.
The fight is being covered on AWE TV at 1 pm if you get that channel.
Bo Pelini got a $100,000 raise. His 2014 salary will be $3,075,000. His contract goes through February of 2018.
The girl's Holdrege Dusters (20-4) play York (18-6) at 8:45 on Thursday night at Devaney. Go Dusters!
