Ohio State 442 Oregon 20 Quite the surprise on how Ohio State really dominated this game. The Big 10 wins the first playoff championship.
Oklahoma hired Lincoln Riley as their offensive coordinator. Cool name. He comes from East Carolina.
Running backs coach Reggie Davis was once going to visit Nebraska and Tom Osborne to play for the Huskers but later cancelled the trip and committed to Washington.
Defensive lineman Reuben Jones, a Nebraska commit, has been offered by Michigan. Jones is out of Lakeland, Florida. This will be interesting to see if we keep him from Jim Harbaugh.
John Fox is leaving Denver as coach. Fox was 49-22 at Denver.
Rex Ryan is the new coach for the Buffalo Bills. The Bills have also hired Greg Romans as their new offensive coordinator. He was previously the 49ers offensive coordinator.
Is Jack Del Rio going to the Oakland Raiders?
Seattle is favored by 7 1/2 points over the Packers and the Patriots are 7 point favorites over the Colts. Watch for the Colts to give the Patriots a hard time and maybe have a chance to win this one.
Lee Barfknecht has NU rated eighth out of 14 schools in the Big 10 in men's basketball. A very fair assessment but NU is on the rise as they have their two big men back and they seem to be playing much better. Wisconsin is No. 1 but they presently have Frank Kamininsky and Traevon jackson out for a while. NU could be in for an upset this week when they play them this Thursday night.
Penn State has suspended guard John Johnson for his conduct.
Injuries and suspensions will play an important part as the Big 10 plays out this year. NU is in the best shape right now it has been in.
Niles Paul's jersey was retired at Omaha North last night. Pretty cool.
NU men's basketball plays at 8 Thursday at Wisconsin, then at 7:30 vs Minnesota at home next Tuesday and on the 24th at 4pm vs Michigan St at home.
The NU women's basketball team takes on Penn State on Thursday. Penn State has won the Big 10 three years in a row. NU is 12-3 and 2-2 in the Big Ten. Big game. Starts at 6pm at the Pinnacle.

Nebraska prediction
Nebraska meets Illinois tonight at the PBA in Lincoln. Nebraska is 9-6 and 1-2 in the Big Ten. Illinois is 11-5 and 1-2 in the Big Ten. Illinois is coached by John Groce. who has a career record of 139-89.
Illinois is without Tracy Abrams who is out for the year with a knee injury. Last week Illinois lost senior guard Rayvonte Rice from a broken hand. Rice was their leading scorer (17.2) and rebounder (6.9).
Malcolm Hill is their best player now with a 14.9 point average and 5.7 rebounds per game. Kendrick Nunn averages 8.6 points per game and is 44% shooting three pointers. Nnanna Egau, center, had 11 points, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots in the last game against Maryland.
Illinois lead this series 11-4.
Nebraska now has Leslee Smith and Moses Abraham back. The big men have been missed. Opponents have been able to get three, four, five offensive rebounds in one trip down the court and this has killed the Huskers. Rebounds have been a huge problem. Plus getting these two guys back helps with the playing time for some of the other main players.
Keys to the game is rebounds and I think Walter Pitchford has to hit for 12-15 points.
Nebraska has raised their ranking from 118th to 107th this week in the Pomeroy ratings. Look for them to keep improving now.
NEBRASKA 69
ILLINOIS 62
Tim Beck will become the co-offensive coordinator for Ohio State. Nice job for him!
The Colts beat the Broncos 24-13 today. It wasn't an upset in my book.
Green Bay beat the Cowboys in a 26-21 victory.
Some think Amari Cooper is the next Odell Beckham.
Wisconsin and Duke lose today.
I don't like the ruling on the pass catcher having to maintain possession of the ball after he is down, etc. Dez Bryant should have had a catch today. Calvin Johnson has been robbed of touchdowns in the past for the same thing.
The Nebraska women won today in a come from behind victory. Theriot keyed the win with 27 points.
In the victory over Wisconsin it was Rutgers first win over a top-5 team in the school's history. By the way NU beat Rutgers by 16 points this week.

The Husker football team have four early enrollees starting school today.
Avery Anderson- A cornerback out of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Rated a four star by Rivals. He is rated the No. 224 prospect in the nation. No. 2 player in Colorado.
Eric Lee-A cornerback out of Highland Ranch, Colorado. Rated a four star by Rivals. He is the No. 142 rated player in the nation. No. 1 player out of Colorado.
Aaron Williams-A defensive back from Atlanta, Georgia. Rated a three star by Rivals. He is the No. 48 overall safety in the nation. He is the No. 72 player in the state of Georgia.
Dedrick Young-A linebacker from Peoria, Arizona. Rated a three star by Rivals. He is the No. 40 running back in the nation. He is the No. 6 player in the State of Arizona.
Todd McShane, who comes from Oregon St., is Nebraska's new assistant of player personnel. He will work under director of player personnel Ryan Gunderson.
Keaton Kristick is in charge of defensive quality control. This possibly will be a defensive intern position.
Earlier it was announced that Reggie Davis will be the new running backs coach at Nebraska. He has coached the last four seasons for the San Fransisco 49ers under Jim Harbaugh. This season he coached the offensive line. Previously he was a running backs coach under Riley at Oregon St.
Also Hank Hughes looks to be joining Riley's staff as a co-defensive coordinator and the new defensive line coach. He looks to be sharing the defensive coordinator position with Mark Banker. Hughes is coming from Cincinnati where he coached under Tommy Tuberville.
Looking into 2015, Nebraska does not lose any quarterbacks. Tommy Armstrong will be back and the leader for the position. Also we will Johnny Stanton and Ryker Fyfe back and some say watch out for AJ Bush and Zach Darlington.
In the offensive line we lose Jake Cotton, Mike Moudy, and Mark Pelini. Alex Lewis, Zach Sterup, Givens Price, Ryne Reeves, and Dylan Utter have all started games and are coming back. Paul Thurston, Chongo Kondolo, and Mark Finnin will all be in a position to start this coming year.
Of course we lose Ameer Abdullah but we will have Imani Cross and Terrell Newby back. Redshirt freshmen include Adam Taylor and Nikale Wilbon. Wilbon got scout team MVP honors this past year and Taylor is supposed to be real good but was injured this past season.
At receiver, we lose Kenny Bell who along with Abdullah will be greatly missed. Nebraska will have Cethan Carter back at tight end and Riley uses the tight end a lot so look to him having a great year. We also have Pierson-El and Westerkamp back so we should be in good shape again. And don't forget about Jamal Turner. He is returning.
