NU baseball sweeps Texas!
Ok its time to rank the NU baseball team! They have the lowest pitching ERA in NU recorded history. Today they beat Texas 6-2. NU won in the 15th inning yesterday 1-0. NU has lots of pitching, very very good pitching. They held Texas hitless for nine straight innings yesterday at one point. Go Huskers!!
Will the NU basketball team have a player or two transfer this year? Will Walter Pitchford stay with the Huskers?
The NU football team is only two weeks away from the Red-White game. So many positions to fill. Many unknowns. One thing is those that have seen them practice is really impressed with AJ Bush but he doesn't appear to be running in the top three quarterbacks. I guess we will see how it plays out. Looks like we are very short players at linebacker and defensive end otherwise the depth looks pretty good.
Two Big 10 teams make it to the Final Four. Both will be underdogs in the next game. Can Wisconsin beat Kentucky?

Sports Shorts!
The NCAA tournament continues tonight. Can West Virginia beat Kentucky? I doubt it but I will be watching just in case. What a game Wichita State and Notre Dame will be tonight. Look with a one point win by Wichita State!!!!
And tomorrow night!! How about Michigan St. vs. Oklahoma. Look for Michigan St. to sneak out a close one. And maybe the best game of the night will be Duke and Utah. Dukes wins by one!!
How is that more people care about Nebraska football right now than Nebraska baseball? The baseball team has won 11 out of 12 but to most the spring football progress is more important. I like both!!
So fun to see the baseball team doing so well. Pitching is very good and the hitting is good maybe not great. It's getting better!
Yes Mike Riley is on the front of the Husker Spring Guide. A lot of good things are happening now. I like their approach and we hope this turns to a lot of wins this fall.
The Huskers have some up and coming stars. Josh Banderas, Adam Taylor, freshman Dedrick Young, Josh Kalu, Chris Jones, Keiran Williams, Cethan Carter, Brandon Reilly, etc. A J Bush is mentioned as having a cannon of an arm but he hasn't been working with the first team so who knows what level he is at.

Today in sports!
Well start filling out those brackets! I dare you to take somebody but Kentucky to win it all. I mean who could it be? Wisconin, a very good team, may not be athletic enough to beat them. You may say Duke?? But really do they have a chance? They couldn't win the ACC. Maybe Notre Dame, who is pretty hot right now. Villanova?? The Big East can surprise some years. Its going to be hard to not take Kentucky.
Nebraska has made an offer for this year's men's basketball class to a 6' 10" center from Michigan in Mike Edwards. He averaged 22 points and 12 rebounds this season but wasn't on the radar before this year. Michigan St. has also offered along with a long list of other schools.
Gerry DiNardo from the Big 10 Network watched the Husker football team practice Friday and Saturday. He thought the splitting the team in two to have two practices was a great idea. Nebraska has 50 some walk-ons now on the team. This creates challenges. He says "Some challenges, QB, RB, LB." Interesting he sees running back as a challnege.
Gretna's Mick Stoltenberg has moved to the defensive line from defensive end.
Who have we been hearing about in the newspapers and internet has players that are doing well.
AJ Bush. Sounds like he is playing well with a lot of talent. Questionable whether he can overtake Armstrong or not.
Jack Gangwish is playing well and working hard. He has some experience and has looked good.
Adam Taylor is a player people believe may fit this new system well. Let's hope he stays healthy.
Nathan Gerry is a leader and continues to play well.
Mikail Collins, like Gerry, is standing out at this time.
Former 2013 UNK starting quarterback Luke McNitt is at tight end now for the Huskers and looks to get some good playing time this year.
The Omaha World-Herald reported that Trai Mosley picked off three Tommy Armstrong passes in practice Saturday. He is a redshirt freshman playing cornerback.
I wished I was going to Omaha to watch the NCAA action at Century Link.
Michigan, Minnesota, and Penn State were not invited to the NIT!
Illinois is a No. 3 seed playing at Alabama. Alabama just fired their coach.
Seven Big 10 teams are in the NCAA tournament. Indiana made it but some say they shouldn't have. That means they win the first game!
Kevin Harvick claimed another win today at Phoenix in Nascar.
Roy Helu Jr. is now an Oakland Raider. We now he can play if they put him on the field.
The three announcers working for the CBS crew will be Brian Anderson, Steve Smith, and Lewis Johnson. I like the truTV crew of Verne Lundquist, Jim Spanarkel, and Allie LaForce.
The NU women's basketball team find out their seeding and location of play tomorrow night.
