Tomorrow night the Nebraska men (rated 99) plays against No. 16 Purdue. This should be a good game but we don't match up very well with Purdue because they are so tall. Run and gun. I haven't been at an NU game where we have been beat yet so its:
Nebraska 71
Purdue 70
Kansas is the No. 1 team in the nation however Michigan St. (who Nebraska beat) and Villanova are close behind.
We seem to have Michigan St.'s number in sports and Wisconsin has ours.
Nebraska has offered a five star defensive lineman in Trevor Trout. John Parella is his main recruiter and he likes Missouri right now. He is part of the 2018 class.

The two greatest things going on in Nebraska the last few month is the Nebraska Volleyball team winning the NCAA tournament and Terrance "Bud" Crawford being the WBO junior welterweight champion. Both these champions look good into the future too.
The Nebraska volleyball team will have a bunch of players back in 2017. Then when you add a first team All-American transfer from LSU named Briana Holman the future looks very bright.
Bud Crawford is great and a huge promoter of Omaha and Nebraska and the Cornhuskers and the Creighton Bluejays on a national basis. Saturday Nebraska and all those above were mentioned in a very positive light by the HBO announcers and Crawford himself. Crawford fought at Madison Square Garden in New York for another defense of his title. He had a TKO in the 5th round against "Hammerin" Hank Lundy. Crawford goes to 28-0. If you haven't watched him do so. So fun!! Let's hope in fight in Omaha soon again.
Make sure you read the Shatel article on this blog. It's the read of the day!!
Is John Parella a good hire with coaching and recruiting ability? I don't know for sure but it sure excites me. I think he could be a great fit for Nebraska. He has always had a passion to work hard himself and that should rub off on his players. Too bad Valentine won't be at Nebraska this fall.
With Nebraska football spring practice coming soon, it will be interesting to see who are the front runners for the offensive line other than Gates and Utter. They have a bunch of pretty good young guys coming up.
I know that spring ball doesn't mean a lot sometimes. I think the big news last spring was Wilbon at running back and AJ Bush at quarterback. Then the spring game came and all the talk was about Zac Darlington. None of them played much last season.
Who will be the back-up quarterback this year? What if Armstrong gets hurt? Will Patrick O'Brien be ready?
I saw Andrew White hit 35 vs Penn St a week ago. He had a pretty good chance of breaking the record of 42 but two offensive fouls cost him 6 points. The fouls were on other players at the same time he swishes a couple of 3's.
The Nebraska women have injuries and this is just killing their season.

Nebraska men's basketball prediction!
Nebraska plays 20-6 Indiana tonight at Indiana. Indiana is No. 22 in the Pomeroy rating. Nebraska is rated No. 90. The key to the game for Nebraska to upset is Yogi Ferrell. Tonight Ferrell goes under 30% from the three point line and Nebraska upsets 76-75 without Will Shields!! This will be a BIG win for Nebraska!!

Recruiting: Big Ten's best at each position: The World-Herald’s Sam McKewon ranked the top five Big Ten signees at each major position and found the top teams in the Big Ten East — Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State — ruled the day, while Nebraska had the most top players out of the Big Ten West. Heights and weights come from 247Sports — except for Nebraska’s signees, where we’ve used the school’s official roster.
