Wow what a game in Lincoln yesterday against Iowa. Nebraska outscored Iowa 39-19 in the second half to win 64-60. Dylan Talley hit a three with 9.2 seconds left to put NU up 63-60. Fun game. What a comeback. I just wished it would have been on regular TV. At the game the 2,000-3,000 Iowa fans were louder than NU in the first half. They were quieter late in the game.
In the last two games(MSU & Iowa), Shavon Shields has averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds with 54% shooting. Nerbaska was rated as low as 218th in the Pomeroy ratings earlier in the season. They are now 138th.
This was the second to last men's basketball game at Bob Devaney. The very first game in Devaney was against Iowa also. Nebraska lost that first game 71-57. Their first win was against Washington and it took overtime to win on November 29, 1976.
Nebraska is now 13-14. They play three of the next four games away with Minnesota coming to Lincoln on Wednesday, March 6th. Nebraska plays Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa away. They will be underdogs in all of the four final games. Even though Nebraska has the third toughest schedule in men's college basketball, they probably need to win two out of four games to have any chance of playing in some kind of post season tournament.
The Omaha World-Heral picked their greatest Devaney Era players. They are Dave Hoppen, Eric Piatkowski, Tyronne Lue, Andre Smith, and Venson Hamilton. I got to see all of these players play. I also remember Jack Moore, Brian Downing, Carl McPipe, Brian Banks, Bernard Day, Eric Johnson, Rich King, Brian Carr, Jamar Johnson, Beau Reid, Bruce Chubick, Jaron Boone, Erick Strickland, Mikki Moore, Cookie Belcher, Kimani Ffriend, Cary Cochran, Nate Johnson, Brian Conklin, Aleks Maric, Ade Dagunduro, Ryan Anderson, Bo Spenver, and Lance Jeter. There are tons more that made great contributions to the program.
I also got to see Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman, and the championship Bulls play an exdhibition game in 1998 against our own Eric Piakowski. Rodman was ejected from the game when he went over after being called for a foul and grabbed a telephone along court and acted like he was making a call.
Concerts were always fun at the Devaney. One I remember was Neil Sedaka.
And then all the drama with the High School Basketball Tournaments. The Omaha World-Herald rates the1989 Class B final as its number one game. Wahoo won 68-66 when Troy Glock made a shot at the buzzer for Wahoo. The number two game is when Ogallala beat Wahoo in the 1992 semis 84-68 to break Wahoo's 114 game winning streak. The longest winning streak in the nation at that time.
Austen Everson was in Holdrege Friday night at the Holdrege Rotary Club meeting. He is the UNL Director of On-Campus recruiting. The former quarterback from Ohio wss humorous and informative in showing the group videos of all recruits and then he making comments regarding their accomplishments in high school. It was very interesting.
I especially liked the video of Nathan Gerry, Drake Martinez, Randy Gregory, Adam Taylor, and Terrel Newby. The defensive linemen looked pretty awesome also.
Nathan Gerry is out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He is listed as a defensive back. He also is a punt and kickoff returner. He is quick and fast. Looks like he could play receiver for sure also. He stuck out as one of the best in the class. We could see him this fall.
Drake Martinez, Taylor's brother, is so fast and he is big. He is just as fast as Taylor or maybe faster. He could be a great safety. Don't be surprised is he gets some major time this fall if he can figure out the schemes right away.
Randy Gregory is a defensive end that could start this fall. If they move Jason Anruh to the middle of the line, Gregory can fill in nicely. He is 6'6" but is only 230 in weight but he has the frame to add some weight. Mixon, Natter, and Suttles add to an A+ group of defensive ends.
Adam Taylor is the best running back coming out of Texas and Terrell Newby was the best out of California. These guys are both very good and both may see time this fall. Great pickups.
The offensive line has Matt Finnin at 6'7", Zach Hannen at 6'5", Dwayne Johnson at 6'6", David Knevel at 6'9", and Chongo Kondola at 6'4". HUGE!
The only Nebraska recruit is Josh Banderas who will be playing linebacker. He will be a great player before he leaves Nebraska.
I look to our quarterback recruit Johnny Stanton to redshirt this fall unless there are injuries.
I like Marcus Newby at linebacker seeing some time this fall. He is a great defensive player from Maryland. Courtney Love from Ohio looks very solid.
The balance of the recruits are all solid and there is probably a diamond or two in the rough with these guys.
The 2014 class will have needs at cornerback and tight end.
An LA high school has hired Marvin Sanders who was let go by USC after the season.
The lady NU basketball team won their ninth game in a row by beating Iowa today by 20 points, 66-46. Rachel Theriot had a career high 19 points. The women are peaking at a really good time.
The NU baseball team went 0-7 when they got beat by Texas 2-0. Today the pitching was excellent but the Texas pitcher, Nathan Thornhill was dominating. The good news is that Nebraska's starting pitching has been pretty good. We have to get better relief pitching. We did today but the offense just couldn't hit the Texas pitching.
Rex Burkhead has a good combine except for his 4.73 40. We know he will do better at the Pro Day in Lincoln. Knile Davis of Arkansas ran 4.37 in the 40 yard dash. Burkhead was second in running the cones which isn't surprising. He was also swcond in the broad jump.
Jimmie Johnson won the Daytona 500. My picks of Harvick, Stewart, and Kenseth wrecked or had engine trouble. Oh well we got 35 more races to go.
Wake Forest knocked off Miami 80-65. Miami was the Number 2 team in the nation. Many think they will win it all.
Did you see the attempted kiss by 50 Cent on Erin Andrews?
Unless Creighton finishes strong, they may be one of the more disappointing teams in the country. In the last 11 games they are 5-6.
The Iowa men's basketball team loss to Nebraska may have put them out of the NCAA tournment. Now Iowa has to win at Indiana to have a chance which means they don't have much of a chance.

Iowa will be tough test today!
#29 Iowa comes to Lincoln today to play the NU men's basketball team ranked at #145. Looks like it could be an easy victory for the Hawkeyes. Mike Gesell, the South Sioux City freshman for Iowa, comes back to Bob Devaney. That's one highlight of the game of why I want to watch it. Man, I wished we could have got him at NU.
Adam Woodbury, a 7'1" freshman from Sioux City, also starts. He's another one we didn't get.
Roy Marble is their star player. He could be NBA potential. Watch out for Aaron White also. He is really good.
Nebraska has been playing teams tough but they have been outmanned most of the year. They aren't deep. Iowa is very deep and will keep fresh bodies in the game. It will be an uphill game for the Huskers who are 5 1/2 point underdogs.
So I look to this game to be the team we upset at home this year. Only Minnesota is left after this.
Nebraska 61 Iowa 60!!
Go Big Red

Pfeifer takes second at state wrestling!
Holdrege's Jacob Pfeifer earned second at the State Wrestling meeting in Omaha in Class B. He wrestled in the 138 lb division and was beaten by Joeseph Hayek of Seward in a sudden victory 3-1. Tied 1-1 Pfeifer was beaten with about two seconds left in the match. Congrats to Jacob.
The most exciting time of the year ( I have about four of them) is coming with March Madness and the Nebraska High School Basketball TOURNAMENTS. Nascar's Daytona 500 is next Sunday! Let the fun begin.
Kyle Brey is a new graduate assistant at Nebraska with his duties being the tight ends. Brey is the son of Notre Dame head basketball coach Mike Brey. Brey has taken Notre Dame to the NCAA tournament five of the past six years.
I went to the Nebraska-Michigan St. game last night. Michigan St. is a Top 10 team. Nebraska is a Top 150 team. But with the Nebraska crowd cheering them on, Nebraska was in the game until the final minutes. Gallegos was 0-13 from the field which was very unusual but if he made three or four of those, who knows what would have happened. The Nebraska big men missed some point blank shots also. Nebraska is playing better and the fans are already looking to next year.
The baseball team went 0-4 on the west coast. Not the start we were hoping for. Hopefully it was a learning experience for them and improvement will happen as the year goes on.

Michigan St. is the best team in America?
Nebraska played #1 Indiana this week and held in there for a while, then got beat 76-47. Indiana is good, very good. Some say Michigan St. is better. That's who NU plays tonight at 7:05 in Lincoln. The home court will help.
Michigan St is a Top 10 team who happens to be 21-4 in a tough Big 10 conference. They are 10-2 in league play. Nebraska is 12-13 and 3-9 in the league.
Michigan St has won five games in a row. Lately Michigan St is playing Branden Dawson 6-6, Adreian Payne 6-10, and Derrick Nix 6-9 all at the same time on the floor. This will cause NU some serious trouble from the first time they played each other, a game Michigan St. won 66-56 in Lansing. Rebounding will be a huge problem for NU and staying out of foul trouble will be a challenge also.
Can NU pull off their annual upset of a ranked team tonight. It looks too tough to accomplish.

Baseball is near!
Baseball is coming soon. The Nebraska Cornhuskers open play at Bakersfield/California on February 15th. NU plays 18 games against 2012 NCAA tourament teams.
Leading off for the Huskers will be Sophomore second baseman Pat Kelly. Kelly batted .313 last year as a freshman. He had eight homers and 37 RBI's. He was second team All-Big-10 and a Freshman All-American. He played shortstop last year but is back to second base with Chad Christensen back after an injury.
With only two scholarship upperclassman this fall at safety, Nebraska needs some freshman to step up. Corey Cooper and Harvey Jackson are the only two safeties that are other than a freshman.
Drake Martinez, who is Taylor's brother, may get some playing time if he can learn the system quickly. He is 6'2" and 200 lbs. and he is fast. He will be one of the fastest players on the team. He runs a 4.4 40 yards dash.
This past year of recruiting in the Big 10 was interesting. Ohio had 53 players that received scholarships. Next was Illinois with 28, followed by Florida with 24. Ohio has 246 kids on scholarship in the Big 10. Florida has 144 and Illinois has 118.
Nebraska had two scholarship players in the 2013 class and has 14 overall.
By the way Michigan is fourth in total scholarships in the Big 10 with 104, Texas is next with 83.
This year NU took four kids from California, three each from Texas, Ohio, and Florida. There are 23 kids on scholarship on the entire team from Texas, seventeen from California, and eleven from Nebraska.

Who wins the Super Bowl?
This game is full of stories with two brothers coaching against each other. The Harbaughs!! This has never happened before. Colin Kaepernick is a great quarterback who can run like no other. He will keep San fransisco in the game but he has only started nine games. Joe Flacco is one of the best post season quarterbacks ever, yes ever.
The NFC is the stronger league in my opinion. They had the best teams this year. But the AFC has a hand full of great teams at the top and Baltimore is the best of them.
Baltimore has a Nebraska Cornhusker. Seward native and former UNL punter Sam Koch keeps Nebraska's streak of having the most number of consecutive players in the Super Bowl.
I don't have a strong feel on this one. I like the San Fransisco 49ers but I will go with Baltimore in a close one.
Baltimore 24 San Fransisco 23

Ohio State is #11!!!
Nebraska continues to play one of the toughest schedules in these United States in college basketball. In about an hour they go against Ohio State rated #11. Nebraska has worked up to #152. Nebraska is 11-11 and have lost seven of their last nine but much of that time they have played pretty well.
Ohio St. has averaged 72 points per game and manhandled Nebraska earlier in the season at Ohio St. This time it is in Lincoln which will help. Ohio St. is 16-4 overall and 6-2 in the conference. They are led by Deshaun Thomas who is averaging 20 points a game. He is an All-American and Nebraska has nobody that can match up to him. Nebraska also lacks depth.
You take Thomas out of the lineup and I think Nebraska could be Ohio St. tonight. That means Nebraska is one or two great players away from being at or near the top.
Ray Gallegos is ninth in the Big 10 in points and 9th in steals. He is 32nd nationally in 3-pointers. Brandon Ubel is ranked 10th in rebounds in the big 10.
Ohio St. is one of the best teams in the nation in turnovers.
Ohio St. is favored by 13 points.
Tonight's score will be close to:
Ohio State 72 Nebraska 60

Nebraska meets a buzzsaw tonight!
So how can you say we are meeting a buzzsaw tonight when Minnesota has lost four games in a row?? First of all Minnesota needs to win, they are much more talented than NU with much more depth, and they have been beaten by some pretty good teams lately. They have lost to Indiana, Michigan, Nothwestern, and Wisconsin.
Minnesota is rated No. 9 by Pomeroy. Nebraska is rated No. 154. The game is at Minnesota. Yes, Nebraska can pull off an upset because they are a team oriented, hustling, and they have a want to win attitude. But tonight this game will be tough.
Nebraska is gaining. They are fun to watch!!
Score:
Minnesota 70 Nebraska 57
However watch tonight's game on BTN and route for Nebraska. GO BIG RED!!

Nebraska has a good chance to win vs. Northwestern!
Nebraska has lost seven of their last nine games and six of seven conference games. Thier record is 10-10 and they are 1-6 in the Big 10 conference. They have played good ball mostly this year and have surprised many playing some tough teams really well. Nebraska dropped 22 places in the Pomeroy ratings since losing to Illinois. They are rated 173rd.
Northwestern is 12-8 overall and 3-4 in the Big 10. lately though they have played very well. In the last three games they beat Illinois by 14 at Illinois. They lost to No. 2 Indiana by 8 points and they beat No. 9 Minnesota by seven points. That's playing some pretty good basketball.
Northwestern is in 8th place in the Big 10, with Nebraska 11th.
Nebraska got slaughtered in rebounds vs. Illinois but they allow fewer rebounds than Northwestern. Dylan talley will be the top scorer for both teams. Northwestern has more depth. Northwestern's top players are Reggie Hearn, Jared Swopshire, Drew Crawford, and Dave Sobolewski.
Northwestern is on a hot streak and Nebraska is coming off a terrible loss. Nebraska is better than that. They have maybe 1-3 more games they can win. This is one of them. They need to win this Saturday.
In a game that could go either way, I have to go with Nebraska this time.
Nebraska 60 Northwestern 59
In a side note, Nebraska commit WR Dominic Walker has flipped to Auburn!!

Illinois has won some big games this year!
The Nebraska men's opponent on Tuesday is Illinois. They ar 14-5 overall but only 1-4 in the conference. They beat Gonzaga at Gonzaga by 13. They beat Ohio St. by 19 points. They beat Auburn on a neutral court. They beat Butler by 17 points. At times they have played like the No. 1 team in the nation. They have lost five of their last seven games. At times they don't play very good. Which team shows up in Lincoln on Tuesday night? The Top 10 who was 12-0 or the team of lately.
Nebraska is on the rise. They have moved up the ranks and are now rated 152nd. Illinois is rated 61st.
Illinois is coached by John Groce who took an Ohio team last year to the NCAA tournament and did well taking them to the Sweet Sixteen. Nebraska was interested in him. This matchup puts the newest coaches in the Big 10 against each other.
Freshman Shavon Shields has just come off a 29 point performance vs. Penn State and was named the Freshman Player of the Week in the Big 10. He has added a new dimension to the basketball team. Nebraska has averaged 60 ppg the past three games after averaging 44 ppg the first three BIG 10 games.
Dylan Talley has 18 assists and three turnovers in the last four games as point guard. This has been huge for the improved play we have seen.
Illinois has Brandon Paul who is second in the Big 10 in scoring at 19.2 points per game.
This game could go either way but the overall quality of the Ilinois team wins out.
Illinois 67 Nebraska 65
Hope we win our second Big 10 game this year!! Go Big Red!!

Ubel could play today!
Brandon Ubel did make the trip to Penn State. The game is at noon today. Nebraska is 9-9 and 0-5 in the conference. The Nittany Lions are 8-9 and 0-5 in the conference. Somebody is going to win their first conference game today. Ubel is key. He says he is at 80-85%. Ubel has been out for 11 days now with a fractured elbow.
The Nittany Lions also have some injury problems. Their point guard Tim Frazier was a returning first-team All-Big Ten pick. He accounted for 58% of last year's Penn State offense. He is out for the season aftern the fourth game with an achiilles tear.
It will be a hard fought game. Penn State is favored by 3 1/2 points.
Nebraska was led by Shavon Shields with 18 points and 8 rebounds in the last game. Penn State was led by Jermaine Marshall with 29 points and 10 rebounds in their last game.
Andre Almeida is ranked fifth in the Big 10 for blocked shots. Ray Gallegos is ranked 4th in the Big Ten in three-pointers.
Nebraska is rated 161st in the Pomeroy ratings. Penn State is 201st. If Ubel is healthy, Nebraska wins 57-54. If Ubels plays less than 20 minutes, Nebraska loses 60-59.
In football, Nebraska has four signees from Florida in all of Pelini's previous years and now in this recruiting class we have three signees. Nebraska received a commitment from Cethan Carter, a tight end out of Louisiana.

Nebraska in a very close game vs. Purdue!
Nebraska continues to move up in the Pomeroy rankings to 159th. Four straight losses and they are climbing over teams. Why? Because Nebraska is playing the seventh toughest schedule in the nation.
Nebraska is shooting 27% from the three point line but they are shooting a respectable 49% on 2 pointers. This really is their strength, shooting jumpers. The percentage is remarkable considering they don't get many inside shots.
Nebraska is playing well. Purdue is rated 85th. The game is at home. Nebraska has to continue to hit shots.
My prediction:
Purdue 52 Nebraska 51
I hope we can pull this one out. The team is playing hard and its time for a win.

Nebraska is moving up
Nebraska has moved up to 162nd in the Pomeroy ratings. They now look look like they have a good chance to win their next four games. At least they should all be close. Look to Nebraska to beat Northwestern and Penn State and play Purdue and Illinois very close.
Penn State is now rated 205th so Nebraska has moved ahead of them with ease.

Men's basketball this afternoon!
Even though Nebraska has lost the last three games they have showed that they can win this year in the Big 10. They have moved up to 168th in the Pomeroy ratings. They were as low as 216th earlier this year. The trouble today is four fold.
First they have lost Mike Peltz for the year due to surgery to his knee. He provides depth which Nebraska has very little of this year.
Second, the heart of the team is Brandon Ubel. He has a fractured arm and will be out for a "while". Ubel is a leader. He is one of their top scorers. He leads in rebounding. He is critical to Nebraska. Who will need to step up?? Almeida will get more time, if that is possible, as he wears down because of his size. We will probably see a lineup of no center with three or four guards playing. Maybe Sergei Vucetic will play some.
Third is they play Michigan St. today. They are tough. They are one of the top teams in the nation and rated 16th by Pomeroy. Micigan St. is 13-3 and 2-1 in the conference.
The fourth reason is that the game is in Lansing, Michigan. A really hard place to play.
Nebraska is 9-7. They were improving. Today will be tough and not reflective of the improving Huskers. Look to a score in the neighborhood of:
Michigan St. 65 Nebraska 47. Go Big Red!!!
The Nebraska men's basketball team is third in the Big 10 in graduation rate of its players. Michigan St. is 11th. They graduate 82% compared to MSU's rate of 50%.
Ray Gallegos is ranked 4th in the Big 10 in three-pointers. Andre Almeida is ranked 5th in the Big 10 in blocks.
I loved the article by Dirk Chatelain in the World-Herald today on Shawn Eichorst. It was well written and inspiring. He sounds tough but fair.
Rich Kaipust article on South Dakota recruit Nathan Gerry was also very good. Sounds like he is a talented kid with great character.
Nebraska football will have no players entering the NFL draft this year. That's a huge plus. Michigan St has three players going out early. Ohio St and Illinois has players leaving early. On the national scene the SEC has lots of players leaving early. LSU has nine players leaving for the draft in addition to their normal seniors leaving. The SEC will be hurt by this. Nebraska, with a young team, will be better in 2013. The Big 10 will be better as they have less players entering the draft than most of the other major conferences.

Sport Shorts!
2013 NU basketball recruit Wisconsin wing Nick Fuller has turned into a recruiter. When 2013 power forward recruit Matthew Atewe of Notre Dame (Mass) Prep made his official visit last weekend, Fuller was there to make a hard sell. Fuller thinks Atewe is close to becoming the fourth 2013 recruit.
The other two recruits are Texas guard Nathan Hawkins and New Zealand guard Tai Webster.
Fuller's senior year at Sun Prairie (Wis) High School has gone well. His team is 10-1. He is currently averaging 26 points and 10 rebounds. Earlier this year he broke the career scoring record at his high school.
Shawn Eichorst, our new athletic director, said that "This is about us. It isn't about me." Eichorst says he wants to be firm, fair and consistent. Welcome to Nebraska Shawn!
The Beacher Report has projected the defensive depth chart for 2013. Here it is.
DE- Jason Ankruh, Randy Gregory, Walter Ashburn
DE-Avery Moss, Greg McMullin, Donovan Vestal
DT-Chase Rome, Kevin Williams, Tobi Okuyemi
DT-Vincent Valentine, Thaddeus Randle, Jay Guy
Randy Gregory is a JUCO recruit in this year's class.
MIKE-David Santos, Michael Rose, Trevor Roach, Josh Banderas
WILL-Zaire Anderson, Thomas Brown, Marcus Newby
BUCK-Jared Alfalava, Max Pirman,Thomas Brown
S-Harvey Jackson, Stanley Jean Baptiste, Seth Jameson
S-Mohammed Seisay, Corey Cooper, Wil Richards
CB-Andrew Green, Ciante Evans, LeRoy Alexander
CB-Jonathan Rose, Charles Jackson, Josh Mitchell
NICKEL/PESO-Corey Cooper, Ciante Evans, Thomas Brown
A lot of new names and some good talent.
Back to NU basketball recruit Matthew Atewe. Duke has talked to him but has not made a scholarship offer. Atewe is called a late bloomer. He now is up to 30 scholarship offers. He has visited Kansas State and Auburn.Last weekend he made an official visit to Nebraska. He plans to take all five of his official visits before he decides his choice in Murch.
Atewe wants to play right away and he will have a great chance to do that at Nebraska.
Nebraska is expected to get a visit soon from Toronto native Kevin Thomas, a 6-9 forward at Palm Beach College in Florida. He's a former Texas commit who came from the same AAU program that produced Longhorn players Cory Joseph, Tritan Thompson and Myck Kabongo.
Thomas recently received an offer from Clemson, while Minnesota is also showing interest.
Nebraska also continues to evaluate Leslee Smith, a 6-7, 255-pound forward from Seward County (Kan) Community College. Smith, a Texa native, transferred to Seward after playing last season at SMU.
The spring signing period begins April 17.
Nebraska recently offered Kevin Maurice, a defensive tackle from Florida, a scholarship. He quickly committed to Nebraska. Defensive tackle is a top priority for the Huskers.
NU has just received a commit from California's top running back Terrell Newby. He is a Rivals 100 recruit. Accoeding to the ratings this is NU's top pick in this year's class. NU has already received a commit from Texas's top running back Adam Taylor.
Earlier Malick Collins commmitted to NU. He is another defensive lineman. He is 6'5" 285 lbs and is from Kansas City, Missouri.
Scott Shafer is the new coach at Syracuse. He was formally the defensive coordinator for the Orange.
Penn St backup tailback Curtis Dukes has left the team.
Alabama coach Nick Saban has added to his national championship winning staff, bringing in former Colorado defensive coordinator Greg Brown to coach the secondary.
By Sporting News standards, Alabama has the top recruiting class so far this year. Michigan is second and Texas A & M is third. Ohio State is fifth. Two teams from the Big 10 in the Top 10 should start to improve the overall national reputation of the Big 10.
Nascar team changes include Danica Patrick racing for Tony Stewart's team. Matt Kenseth goes to Joe Gibb Racing and Joey Logano goes to Penske Racing.

Notre Dame way out of their league!
As expected Notre Dame is getting killed by Alabama. Except for those Notre dame Haters and Alabama Lovers the rest of the nation is watching something else right now.
Texas A & M is probably the best team in the nation but because of a slow start they probably didn't deserve to be in the Championship game with Alabama. But what a game that would have been. I think A & M would have beat them again.
Oregon should have been in the Championship game. They are far and away better than Notre Dame.
Right now Alabama is dominating ND in every facet of the game. It isn't even close. What a disappointment to a great college season.

Nebraska vs. Wisconsin Sunday at 3:30!
Nebraska has its first Big 10 game at home tomorrow at 3:30. Come out and watch a great game. Nebraska is the weakest team in the Big 10 this year but the Big 10 is the top basketball conference in America. Lots of talent. Every home game this year will give fans a chance to see some of the best in college basketball. Seven or eight teams will make it to the NCAA tournament this year.
Wisconsin sports a well coached team. They are 10-4 and 1-0 in the conference. They are rated 17th by Pomeroy. Nebraska is coming in at 193rd. Wisconsin is a very good defensive team and they don't turn the ball over. They are led by Jared Berggen. He is one of the best players in America. He is the main guy we have to stop. He penetrates and gets lots of foul shots and by the way he is hitting 80% of those. He is averaging 13.4 points a game. He is the typical efficient Wisconsin player.
Ryan Evans is another tough player. He leads the Badgers in rebounds and shoots a lot of shots although his average is mediocre. Ben Brust is second in rebounds, second in PPG at 11.9, and leads the team in assists. We stop these players and we win the game.
The Huskers, who will be wearing red uniforms for this game, are lead by Brandon Ubel. Ray Gallegos, and Dylan Talley. With Eric Almeida and Mike Peltz probably out for this game, the Huskers have six players they can depend on. Well maybe seven now. Freshman Sergej Vucetic scored the first four points of his Husker career in the second half versus Ohio State.
Look to a lower scoring game. Nebraska will need to shoot lights out which means Gallegos will need to be hot. They will have to play the perfect game to win. Low turnovers and great defense. Doing the things Wisconsin do most every game.
But we have a chance. Creighton beat Wisconsin by the same margin the beat the Huskers so.......
But on this day my prediction is Wisconsin 60 Nebraska 48. See you there!! Go Big Red!
