6'10" power forward Jacob Hammond pledged Monday to play basketball in 2014 for Nebraska. He had committed to Oklahoma but decommitted this spring. Hammond had an offer from Texas Tech and TCU, Tulsa, and Wichita State had shown interest. Nebraska has one more scholarship for 2014 and plans to use it on another big man.
The Kansas City Royals have moved into second place in the American League Central 6 1/2 games back from Detroit. They lead Cleveland by a 1/2 game.
Nebraska BB is after an Australian forward named Jonah Bolden. Nebraska has strong ties to Bolden due to Asst Coach Chris Harriman knowing his dad. Bolden is 6'8" and has impressed recruiting analysts. Louisville and LSU have shown interest along with many other schools. This would be huge for NU if they could land Jonah Bolden.
