Big week in sports!

Ok, this week is the state track meet. I always enjoyed going to this event. Just so many stories and so much talent. The Holdrege Dusters have 18 kids headed down to Omaha and it should be fun!! Go Dusters!

The NU baseball team beat Illinois two out of three and will be seated #2 in the Big Ten tournment. They play Ohio State on Wednesday at 1pm. No. 2 seated Nebraska is 37-18 and No. 7 Ohio State is 30-26. The Huskers should get to the finals.

The attendance yesterday was 6,354 which is the largest crowd since 2008.

The lady Husker softball team beat Missouri twice and they will play in the Super Regionals. They came back in the losers bracket and did rebounded to put them in position to continue the season.

I have added a blog to My Blog List. It is "The Last Train" which is written by Jeff Schmahl who has pancreatic cancer. Schmahl was on Channel 10/11 for many years as a sports announcer.

California Chrome won the Preakness Stakes on Saturday. He has the Belmont Stakes left to win the Triple Crown. There are articles out say its over whether he can wear a nasal strip.

Kurt Busch is trying to get into the Indy 500 field. He has never raced in an Indy car before.Busch posted a four-lap average qualifying speed of 229.960 and just missed qualifying in the top nine. Qualifying continues today.

The Indiana pacers beat Miami today in Game 1 107-96.

The Detroit Pistons offered Tom Izzo the head coaching job but he did not accept. The job ended up going to Stan Van Gundy.

Ohio State remains the leader for 6-10 Daniel Giddens. Great.

The NU football team picked up commit No. 11 in Aaron Williams, a cornerback from Georgia. He is 5-11 185 lbs. and a three star prospect.

Sam Hornish Jr. gets the Nationwide win at the Iowa Speedway today.

Brendon Todd won the PGA event today at 14
