The keys to a Nebraska victory is +3 in turnovers and keeping Jonathon Taylor under 75 yards!

Realistically that won't happen.

Nebraska prediction vs Troy!

Nebraska has a must win tomorrow against Troy! Can we do it with what I believe will be Andrew Bunch?

Did you know NU is 6-13 as being 7-0 back in 2016 and we were ranked in the Top 10?

Did you know that the 565 yards NU had last week that it was 94 more yards than we had in any game last year?

Did you know we only had over 400 yards five times last year?

How in the world did we lose last week?

TURNOVERS, PENALTIES, and DROPPED BALLS!

We can't do that again!

The defense will play another good game this week. The defensive line will shine although it will be tough as Troy has four offensive line starters back!!

This week I think Bunch will play well but don't expect perfection! Jack Stoll will have a nice game with one TD. Our running attack will be strong with a TD of 50 yards or more. Look to Mike Williams having a long TD catch.

Gameday and Prediction!

We are here!! The Frost era begins tomorrow at 7 pm in Lincoln vs Akron,

Terry Bowden is the coach for Akron. He is Bobby Bowden's son and coached at Auburn at one time for six years, His lifetime record is 171-106-2.  Last year Akron finished 7-7 but played for the MAC championship when they finished first in the Eastern Division of the MAC. Losses last year included 50-3 by Penn St. and 41-14 by Iowa St.

As the season is getting closer I have listened to hours of podcasts. A person has to filter most of it. A few months ago everybody was predicting a 6-6 or 7-5 record. Lately you are hearing broadcasters predicting 9-10 victories for the Huskers. The optimism is growing rapidly. Let's hope they are accurate and not just "drinking the kool-aid."

Part of the anticipation is to see how the team looks different in strength and quickness. How much have we improved just because of conditioning.

Let's start with the defense. We are very deep in the defensive line and we have some studs at linebacker. The safeties look very good and if there is a weakness and I am not sure there is but it would be at cornerback and some depth there, Two true freshmen are backups which in a way is a positive and shows the talent they have brought in.

The defense will be different as I think they plan to put lots of pressure up front. No more standing up in the defensive line and maintaining. The linebackers should get some nice sacks and with that pressure we will increase our turnovers. NU needs to average three a game this year. I think we will.

We await to see the offense work. It should be pretty cool to watch a team running quick plays. Frost says we will be fast. That's exciting! They key to our new young quarterback is the offensive line. I expect them to be much improved. Much Improved! If that is true this will give the youngster Martinez quickly and he will excel after he gets through the jitters.

Who will star at running back? I am excited to see Ozigbo and Maurice Washington the most. Of course we will also see how Greg Bell does. The receivers are pretty talented with Stanley Morgan, Mike Williams, JD Spielman, and T. Lindsey,

I think the tight ends will do great with and they will score at least two TD's. They are critical.

So early on I thought this would be a 38-24 type of game but looking at Akron I think the spread may be larger even if they have nine back on defense.

Prediction Nebraska 42 Akron 21!!

Go Big Red!

Super Bowl Prediction!

Today is the big day for NFL football. It's the Super Bowl today!!  I can remember back to the first Super Bowl in 1966 when the Packers beat the Chiefs 35-10. It was the first time the NFL played the old AFL for the Championship.

Bart Starr was the quarterback for the Packers. He was like a 15th round draft pick who was very good. I can remember the receivers for the Packers. They were Bowd Dowler, who go injured in the game and Max McGee. McGee caught passes for 138 for two touchdowns. Jim Taylor was the main running back for the Packers as Paul Hornung was hurt. The Super Bowl seemed to be a bigger deal then. Maybe I have just seen too many Super Bowls!

This year we have two very good teams playing, New England is the best team in the AFC and Philadelphia was the best team in the NFC until their quarterback Carson Wentz got hurt. They still may be the best with Nick Foles!  I look to this game as even. Both teams are very good!

Do you remember when the Huskers beat Arizona 33-0 in the Holiday Bowl in 2009. Nick Foles was 9-29 in passing for 48 yards with an interception. He also had a -19 yards rushing.

We have two Huskers playing in the Super Bowl. Nate Gerry plays for the Eagles on special teams and Rex Burkhead is a running back for the Patriots.

Some people don't like Tom Brady, Brady was a backup quarterback on the 1997 Michigan team that shared the national championship with Nebraska.

My first thought was that the Eagles would win this because of their defense but after thinking about the game I am going with the Patriots in a close one.

New England wins in a last second field goal.

New England 24
Philadephia 23

No. 11 Maryland snapped Nebraska women's five-game winning streak this afternoon 64-57. Kaila Charles finished with 25 points and 16 rebounds for Maryland. Freshman Taylor Kissinger came off the bench to score 18 points for Nebraska.

Nebraska announced that Gothenburg's Bennett Folkers is walking on at Nebraska.

I think Nebraska is going to get a commitment from Maurice Washington on Signing Day Wednesday. Washington may be the best recruit we get since Lawrence Phillips as far as football talent.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
