What happened?

The UCLA is still a mystery to this writer. Nebraska was playing a team that had lost one of its players last week to a tragic accident. How would UCLA react? It seemed like they were down all the first quarter and a good part of the second quarter. Nebraska needed a couple of more big plays and UCLA would have, it appeared, been unable to come back this day.

They have a good team but mentally things weren't going well at all. Then we had the missed sack and Hundley converted what should have been fourth and 20 to a first down. They then scored and made the scoer 20-13 at halftime.

It gave them hope and a rise in spirits and control of the game. In the mean time Nebraska made a lot of mental mistakes and didn't make tackles. The offense sputtered at best and never did really get going after the second quarter. The result was UCLA 41 Nebraska 21. Yes Nebraska led 21-3 in the second quarter.

Then on Monday the tape comes out. No surprise as to its content. It least it shouldn't be. It was like a husband yelling at his wife in total anger but this time it is taped and two years later released.

I don't like what I heard but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I wished it hadn't happened but it did.

I just view what is best for Nebraska. I am not pro or con Pelini. I want the Nebraska team to give their best every week. That's what I want. We didn't get that the last two and whatever quarters last Saturday. We hope play gets better in the upcoming weeks.

Martinez is hurt. It was apparent he was hurt vs. UCLA. They begged him to run.  This week we get a dose of Tommy Armstrong Jr. and possibly Ron Kellogg III. We have an infusion of something different. It could be great if we get started out strong or it could be bad with a couple of quick interceptions. I think it will be a positive.

Nebraska wins 48-20 over South Dakota St.
