Nebraska lands new football recruit!

It has been six weeks since we got our last commit. Today we got our 13th commit with Joshua Kalu. He is a three star safety from Houston. He chose Nebraska over Houston, Wake Forest, and Colorado.

Presently Nebraska is 48th in recruiting in the nation and seventh in the Big 10 according on the 247 national rankings.

Tennessee fired their band director today. That doesn't happen very often.

Men's BB coach Tim Miles wants the Huskers to have better discipline and decision making. We will need everything for this year's schedule. Miles likes how Walter Pitchford has evolved.

The basketball team has injuries. Tai Webster has a sprained ankle and has missed the past four practices. Freshman Tim Walker suffered a dislocated ankle and is lost for the season. He had eight screws and two plates inserted during his surgery.

Leslee Smith has been slowed by knee and hamstring problems.

The team has voted Shavon Shields, Terran Petteway, and Ray Gallegos as their captains. Shields and Petteway are sophomores. Miles says Petteway is his hardest worker.

Miles says he wants to run a fast, aggresive, attacking, fun style of play this season.

Kentucky is the preseason #1 in college basketball. Louisville is #2. Michigan St., Kansas, and Duke follow. Ohio St. is #9, Michigan #10, and Wisconsin #14.

Former Michigan St. wide receiver BJ Cunningham has signed to the Philadelphia Eagles active roster.

I hate that Spencer Long was injured Saturday with a knee injury. The All American may be out for the season. Let's hope not.

Nebraska will kickoff at 11:00 am against Minnesota on October 26th.

Nebraska will play the Oregon Ducks in 2016 and 2017. Wow!

Can anybody beat Alabama? History says yes!

In Nascar, Brian Vickers is out for the rest of the year with a bllod clot.

New Orleans tight end Jimmy Graham is out for a while with a leg injury. That will make some fantasy owners upset.

The St. Louis Cardinals are up 2-0 over the Dodgers. Third game is 2 to 0 Dodgers in the eighth.
