What's Up In Sports!

Only a little over a month to go until our first football game versus Florida Atlantic. Shouldn't be much of a game but the first couple of games are always fun because for one it has been a while and second we want to see who the new stars will be for the Huskers. Who will emerge from the young guys? How will Alex Lewis do at left tackle. How will Cross, Newby, and Taylor do in the backfield? Will Rose and Anderson star at linebacker? Will Alonzo Moore be our next receiver to star? How will the mood be with the coaches? Or the fans? Tons of questions The Ansers begin August 30th!

There is not a lot of hype in the Big 10 for Nebraska this year as they are predicted to finish third. That's good. Maybe this year we surprise versus disappoint.

Baseball is coming to its final part of the season with just two months left before the playoffs. The Cubs are going young. They have six of the top 41 young prospects in baseball. The Royals just cant keep it together enough to make the playoffs. At least thats the way it looks right now.

How about the Baltimore Orioles? They have a three game lead over the Yankees. Cruz has 75 RBI's. Markakis is 4th in the American League with 123 hits. Cruz is second in home runs with 29. Baltimore doesn't have any superstars just a lot of good players.

Detroit is probably more than the Royals can overcome. They are pretty solid. Can Chris Davis start hitting the ball. He's only hitting .201.

The A's have the best record in baseball at 64-39 but only lead the Angels by two games.

Fantasy football is coming soon. What players will give you the most consistent points. Well first of all you have to have some luck with injuries but I think I will try to get a Top 5 QB the first round and if not get the best runningback I can get or Jimmie Graham.

Hunter Dale, a defensive back from Louisiana, committed to Nebraska and then de-committed when he got home. He is being sought after by the top programs in the country. It will be interesting to see who he ends up committing to.

Rex Burkhead is in a tight battle to make the Bengals toster. Coley Harvey from ESPN says the biggest thing he has going for him is his work ethic.
