Sport Shorts!

The Husker football team have four early enrollees starting school today.

Avery Anderson- A cornerback out of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Rated a four star by Rivals. He is rated the No. 224 prospect in the nation. No. 2 player in Colorado.

Eric Lee-A cornerback out of Highland Ranch, Colorado. Rated a four star by Rivals. He is the No. 142 rated player in the nation. No. 1 player out of Colorado.

Aaron Williams-A defensive back from Atlanta, Georgia. Rated a three star by Rivals. He is the No. 48 overall safety in the nation. He is the No. 72 player in the state of Georgia.

Dedrick Young-A linebacker from Peoria, Arizona. Rated a three star by Rivals. He is the No. 40 running back in the nation. He is the No. 6 player in the State of Arizona.

Todd McShane, who comes from Oregon St., is Nebraska's new assistant of player personnel. He will work under director of player personnel Ryan Gunderson.

Keaton Kristick is in charge of defensive quality control. This possibly will be a defensive intern position.

Earlier it was announced that Reggie Davis will be the new running backs coach at Nebraska. He has coached the last four seasons for the San Fransisco 49ers under Jim Harbaugh. This season he coached the offensive line. Previously he was a running backs coach under Riley at Oregon St.

Also Hank Hughes looks to be joining Riley's staff as a co-defensive coordinator and the new defensive line coach. He looks to be sharing the defensive coordinator position with Mark Banker. Hughes is coming from Cincinnati where he coached under Tommy Tuberville.

Looking into 2015, Nebraska does not lose any quarterbacks. Tommy Armstrong will be back and the leader for the position. Also we will Johnny Stanton and Ryker Fyfe back and some say watch out for AJ Bush and Zach Darlington.

In the offensive line we lose Jake Cotton, Mike Moudy, and Mark Pelini. Alex Lewis, Zach Sterup, Givens Price, Ryne Reeves, and Dylan Utter have all started games and are coming back. Paul Thurston, Chongo Kondolo, and Mark Finnin will all be in a position to start this coming year.

Of course we lose Ameer Abdullah but we will have Imani Cross and Terrell Newby back. Redshirt freshmen include Adam Taylor and Nikale Wilbon. Wilbon got scout team MVP honors this past year and Taylor is supposed to be real good but was injured this past season.

At receiver, we lose Kenny Bell who along with Abdullah will be greatly missed. Nebraska will have Cethan Carter back at tight end and Riley uses the tight end a lot so look to him having a great year. We also have Pierson-El and Westerkamp back so we should be in good shape again. And don't forget about Jamal Turner. He is returning.
