Happy Thanksgiving! A Nebraska prediction!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!! Give thanks to Lord for everything we have!

The greatest sporting event I have ever been to was the Bud Crawford fight at the CenturyLink a few months ago. Just electric and the crowd was amazing.

Well this Saturday Crawford defends his WBO  and Ring lightweight title in Omaha this Saturday. I really wished I was going again!! Crawford (24-0 17 knockouts) fights Ray Beltran (29-6 17 knockouts). Crawford should win this fight and he is so fun to watch. Catch it on HBO Saturday night. Great entertainment!!

It was a downer last Saturday when Minnesota beat the Nebraska football team. I rewatched the game and there were probably five or six plays that went Minnesota's way and if one of them would have went Nebraska, they would have won. A lot of things went right for Minnesota and give them credit they are a good football team.

Nebraska is a good football team too but not great. Lots of talk this week to get rid of the coaching staff. Either Pelini and the entire staff need to go or at least some of the staff. I won't make a judgement either way. But who are we going to get to come to Nebraska to fight the recruiting disadvantage we have here in Nebraska? Just a question. We can't push a button and say you come here. There aren't a lot of coaches who some people think would be better than what we have that really want to recruit at a disadvantage like we have.

After the Nebraska football team's loss the men's basketball team took a hit at Rhode Island. I think the NU men's basketball team is very good but until we get a good big guy or two underneath we won't hit the upper ten teams in the nation. But we can play against most everybody and compete.

So we have a disadvantage in recruiting because of population and distance so why didn't we grab Drew Ott from Gilter. Everything pointed to the fact he was going to be good. Get the great ones in Nebraska when we have a chance. Ott is Iowa's top defensive lineman and will be in the NFL soon.

Also I am not sure of Calvin Strong's pro and cons but as far as talent I think Nebraska should grab him. Looks like he is going to South Dakota for school but he looks amazing.

The Nebraska volleyball team dropped a five set game to Illinois last night. Illinois was rated No.11 and Nebraska No.10. It was at Illinois.

In high school football, GI and Kearney ended up being rated 6th and 10th respectively. McCook ended up 4th in Class B with Cozad No. 6 in C-1. There were no area teams in C-2 rated but in Eight Man-1 Elm Creek was rated 3rd. Again there were no area schools rate in Eight Man-2.

Pro football schedule today:
Chicago at Detroit  11:30 am
Philadelphia at Dallas 3:30 pm
Seattle at San Fransisco 7:20 pm

College football
TCU at Texas 6:30 pm  Watch for Texas to pull the upset!!!!!!!
LSU at Texas A & M

Nebraska plays Iowa tomorrow and it comes down to these teams are both just matched equally. Nebraska is a little better team but Iowa has the home field advantage. It is also possible that neither Kenny Bell or Randy Gregory will be on the field Friday for NU. Probably won't end in a tie so I am going with this:

Two Overtimes
Nebraska 37
Iowa 31
