Sport Shorts

The men's NU basketball team will not be playing in postseason play. As a fan I am disappointed but I am sure the team and Athletic Department made the right decision.

In non-sports news I read today the the IKEA founder, who is worth $40 billion , buys his clothes at flea markets. I told my wife this and she said "good for him". She didn't get the hint.  http://www.omaha.com/money/with-a-net-work-of-more-than-billion-ikea-founder/article_b79ecfad-4aa7-5f32-ad68-1821a848cd6b.html

Omaha World-Herald's om Shatel had a great article on how the interest in basketball in the State of Nebraska is picking up!!  Creighton, Nebraska, and UNO showed promise for the future this year. The High School State Basketball tournament was full of excitement. With excitement brings more Division I players. We have seen it in volleyball.  http://www.omaha.com/sports/shatel-as-passion-for-college-hoops-rises-state-s-teams/article_96096ec4-270c-5707-bae0-de436725ee6a.html

Prince Amukamara is headed to the Jacksonbille Jags after signing a one year contract.

WR Jason McQuitty from Missouri became the second player to commit to Nebraska for the 2017 class. He is a four star by Rivals ratings!! Wideout coach Keith Williams had a lot to do with McQuitty coming to Nebraska. The other member of the class is linebacker Willie Hampton from Florida.

I really think Keyshawn Johnson, Jr will come to Nebraska. He seems to really like the new coaches.

Michigan St. and Purdue are the two best teams in the Big 10. I like Purdue the most because of their size.

Jessica Shepard had the best freshman season ever for the NU women.
