Sport Shorts!

Terence "Bud" Crawford may be ready to land the first world boxing championship in Omaha in more than 40 years. The CenturyLink may be the place. How exciting is this?! If the fight happens it would be shown on HBO. Crawford is 23-0 with 16 knockouts. Crawford is 26 years old.

His opponent may be Raymundo Beltran , a Mexican fighter and former sparring partner of Manny Pacquiao.  Boxing is coming to Omaha!!

A source with knowledge of the situation says the Moses Ayegba will be transferring to the Nebraska basktball team from Georgetown. Ayegba is 6'9" and 247 lbs. He has one year to play. Nebraska has offered 2015 recruit Glynn Watson, a point guard from Chicago. He is a four star recruit. He is small at 5'11" and 165 lbs but he averaged 17 points  and six assists a game. He shot 85% from the free throw line. Watson also has offers from Creighton, Iowa, Marquette, DeApul, and Penn State.

The Huskers are also interested Jordan Cornish a 6'6" 215 lb wing player from New Orleans. He had signed with Tennessee but was released from his letter of intent when Tennessee changed coaches. Cornish plans to visit Nebraska, SMU, and UCLA. He averaged 20.9 points for Class 5A Brother Martin High.

Nebraska has three scholarships available for 2014. They are also trying to get 6'8" forward juco player Deng Deng to visit Nebraska. He is considered one of the top 5 players in junior colleges.

The Royals lost yesterday 5-3 to Cleveland and the Cubs lost 7-5 to Arizona. The Cubs lead 5-3 going into the 9th!!!
